1. What are you going to call your business?

Finding a name for your business can be the most important aspect to starting your home-based business. Think of the products that you have to offer. For example, if you offer "Wedding Supplies". Have a name something like "Julie's Wedding Supplies", or "Weddings in a Bag" "Wedding Surprises" ...you can see where I am going with these names. You can use your imagination but stay within your "theme".

Once you have your business name, you will need to check on the domain name registry to see what your business website url will be.

You can go to http://www.godaddy.com to type in a search for domain names. If your site is going to be called "Julie's Wedding Supplies", look to see if juliesweddingsupplies.com is available. If the domain name is not available you will be giving other choices to use or you can keep trying to get a personalized domain that you want. Maybe something like jweddingsupplies.com.

Once you have established a domain name that is available you will then start looking for a hosting provider. I will be talking with you about that topic within the next few days. If your checking in everyday, take a day or two to think about the business name you want to really use. Don't be in a rush, after all this will be your business name from here on out!

Good luck! Check back tomorrow for more business quick tips for starting, building, and promoting a home-based business.
